Sambit Patra - BJP
If you ask Sambit’s ex-colleagues from Delhi’s Hindu Rao Hospital about his past, they will tell you about a person who can easily be controlled ,friendly and popular, Intelligent and charismatic but calm.
Sambit started with party meetings in the Chandni Chowk and Malkaganj areas, and slowly, steadily, established a closeness to Delhi BJP leaders — the likes of Vijay Goel and Harsh Vardhan apparently — eventually netting the Delhi BJP spokesperson position.
Sambit Patra doesn’t come from either a background of hardcore politics or drama — he is an MBBS from VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla, Sambalpur, and a Master of Surgery from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, Utkal University.
Congress spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi, believe that Sambit is basically an extension, or, better still, a consolidation of the BJP ideology.
As a BJP spokesperson, he had one job — to speak for his party. To defend it at all costs and to attack the opposition, showing them up, leaving them red-faced and most importantly, tongue-tied and he does it well. And he may well have chosen a 'saam-daam-dand-bhed' way of doing that — going from being docile to aggressive to launching outright, bitingly fierce attacks that left his opponents literally speechless.
His oratorical skills are an advantage few BJP leaders have.
He took up his Bachelor of Law degree (1985-88) from Faculty of Law, Panjab University, Chandigarh. During his years in Law Faculty, he remained Member of the Consultative Committee of the Faculty as also Chairman of the Lawyer’s Forum.
During 1977-80, he learnt a new interpretation of lasting loyalty and commitment as he saw his father (then Leader of Congress Legislature Party) toil endlessly for resurgence of Smt. Indira Gandhi and the Indian National Congress.
Randeep has a profound belief that politics comes laced with a societal responsibility. Power of people must be used to serve those, who need it the most. He believes that cumulation of small humble efforts by different individuals/organizations can help us achieve major milestones.
We just thought why only the spokespersons, we should compare the whole party instead. Click on the image below to vote for your favourite Party - let's see who wins.
